Info For New Users

Welcome to REDCap!

Before you begin working in REDCap, please review the BCCHR REDCap Appropriate Use Policy and Standard Operating Procedures.

Here are some helpful resources to familiarize yourself with the platform and to learn how to build and modify projects.

Once logged in to REDCap, click on the My Projects tab and select your project. You will then see a navigation pane on the left that contains multiple links:

• The Help & Information section at the very bottom contains a Help & FAQ page, Video Tutorials, and a direct link to contact the Data Management team for support.


• The Applications section contains a link to the BCCHR REDCap Hub, which features tutorials on the common REDCap tasks, such as building instruments and sending surveys. The BCCHR REDCap Help Desk allows you to request a new project, a new user account, and set up a meeting for training or project development. The BCCHR DM Documentation link includes the list of all standard operating procedures and a comprehensive user manual for users who cannot access the BCCHR Hub.

Use DEMO REDCap to explore REDCap, follow videos and practice skills. Please note this is only a "play" area, do not use it for actual projects or data collection.

Weekly Tips & Tricks are published every two weeks in the BCCHR Newsletter, highlighting new and interesting REDCap features.

We have developed Virtual Workshops to help familiarize you with REDCap and it's features. We recommend that you start with the Virtual REDCap Beginner Workshop and then move to the additional workshops.
You will utilize your REDCap DEMO account to follow along with the Workshop and practice your skills.

If you have a specific need for your project and you cannot find the answers within the workshops or on the HUB, you can also contact the REDCap Team for project specific training.
